It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Listening to: Tears Don't Fall by Bullet For My Valentine
Reading: Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

Read the book it's based on!!!! It is amazing!!!!!

I've had the books for about a year but haven't read them because of coursework and stuff like that but as I read the first one to which Hayao Miyazaki based the film on, I've come to realise just how great it is!

It's quite a bit different to the film but it doesn't take anything away, it kinda adds to it! The characters are far more developed, not critising Miyazaki by the way, the man is a legend, but they do seem more relatable. Howl is far more childish and more self centred (and I quote; 'He spent only an hour in the bathroom the next morning.'), Sophie is more fiesty, Micheal (or Markl as he's known in the film) has a far bigger role and Calcifer is much more sarcastic.

Why am I so hyped up about this? Because Howl's Moving Castle is my all time fav film and to read the original and discover it's so good makes me really happy~

And the author is British! Bonus!
